Chemours Says West Virginia Plant Doesn’t Endanger Water Supply

The Chemours Co. said excess forever chemical discharge from its West Virginia plastics factory doesn’t endanger the health of tap water drinkers that rely on the Ohio River, according to a brief asking a federal appeals court to block a compliance order.

A lower court’s preliminary injunction warrants reversal because the plaintiff—a part of the West Virginia Rivers Coalition—failed to prove irreparable harm. She doesn’t drink the affected water, the company told the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in a brief filed Monday.
