A tech trade association asked the US Supreme Court to intervene in its fight against Texas’ App Store Accountability Act, seeking emergency action to stop the law from going into effect while litigation against it proceeds.
The law, which would require proof of age or parental consent to download a smart phone application, forces app stores to police access to a vast amount of online speech and violates the First Amendment, according to the Computer and Communications Industry Association.
