Sixth Rail Worker Union Ratifies Labor Deal Backed By Biden

A majority of railroad workers represented by the National Conference of Firefighters and Oilers voted to accept the labor pact brokered in part by President Joe Biden last month, the union said in a tweet.

  • Vote was 58.7% in favor of accepting the deal, joining five other unions that have agreed
  • Although agreement was accepted, many NCFO members “are disappointed with the terms” and sick-leave and time-off policies are important issues, NFCO President Dean Devita said in a statement
  • Note: five additional unions are scheduled to conclude voting by mid-November
    • One union has rejected tentative agreement
