CME to Move Livestock Futures, Other Markets to Google Cloud

CME Group Inc., the US’s largest derivatives exchange, is moving some of its markets to the cloud before the end of the year, according to Chief Executive Officer Terry Duffy.

The shift is part of a larger deal that the Chicago-based exchange operator struck with Alphabet Inc.’s Google in 2021, Duffy said in an interview last week. The 10-year alliance, which included Google’s $1 billion equity investment in CME, is meant to migrate the exchange’s data, clearing services and trading into the cloud.
