New air toxics rules that govern synthetic organic chemical operations don’t go far enough in protecting communities from carcinogenic emissions, according to groups that launched a new suit on Monday.
Rise St. James Louisiana, Earthjustice, and other advocacy organizations sued the Environmental Protection Agency at the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, claiming that the agency has underestimated how much ethylene oxide is emitted from the regulated plants.
