Louisiana Gives Denka Two-Year Extension on Chloroprene Rule (1)

Denka Performance Elastomer LLC will have now have two years to comply with the EPA’s new air toxics rules for carcinogenic emissions, despite an appellate panel denying the company’s legal bid to halt the rule’s original shorter deadline.

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality signed a letter on June 27 that gives the neoprene company a longer grace period to install controls, finding that “additional time is needed” for Denka to complete the mandates.
