North Carolina’s Rules For Same-Day Voting Are Constitutional

A North Carolina law changing the verification process for voters who register the day of an election aligns with the US Constitution, a federal judge said.

The minimal burden imposed on voters by the law “is justified in relation to the State’s legitimate interests in preventing voter fraud, promoting election integrity, addressing the appearance of voter fraud, and ensuring efficient election administration,” the US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina said Thursday.
