Ohio Judges Pound State on School Voucher Program’s Fairness

An Ohio appeals court pushed a state lawyer Tuesday on a GOP-backed voucher program that advocates say siphons off money from public schools and gives it to those lucky enough to attend private institutions.

The all-Democratic panel of the Ohio Court of Appeals, Tenth District peppered the attorneys for the state and supporters of its program on why, as Judge David J. Leland asked, the state is “subsidizing wealthy students who can afford to go to private school?”
