UFC Fighters Ask Court to Approve $335 Million Cash Settlement

Fighters who sued Ultimate Fighting Championship over claims of wage suppression asked a federal judge for preliminary approval of a $335 million deal they reached with the company.

The request for initial approval, filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Nevada, comes after nearly 10 years of litigation involving hundreds of fighters. It aims to compensate fighters in two lawsuits with payouts that could amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars from UFC for each covered class member and allows the company to stave off damages that could have reached as much as $1.6 billion.
