Chief Justice Scott Brister suggested Arity 875 LLC, developer of technology used in third-party apps, falls squarely in the court’s purview in a suit involving anti-privacy claims from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R).
Brister scoffed at an argument raised by Arity’s lawyer that the Chicago company’s actions are too removed from Texas for the state’s courts to have jurisdiction, and that Paxton needed to sue in Illinois.
