Boeing Defense Workers Reject Latest Offer, Strike Continues (2)

Boeing Co.’s St. Louis-area defense workers will remain on strike after they rejected a third contract offer from management, extending a month-old clash that has complicated the US planemaker’s turnaround.

“Boeing’s modified offer did not include a sufficient signing bonus relative to what other Boeing workers have received, or a raise in 401(k) benefits,” the union representing the employees said in a statement on Friday.

It’s only the third strike in a half century by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 837, which represents around 3,200 workers at Boeing factories in Missouri and Illinois.
