Booz Allen Job Cuts Expand as Government Contract Work Slows (1)

Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corp. laid off more workers last quarter as government contract work dried up.

The government contractor ended the first half of its fiscal year with about 33,000 employees, with customer-facing staff down 3% sequentially and 10% from a year ago, Chief Financial Officer Matt Calderone said in an earnings call on Friday.

The company cut senior-level positions as the civil business weakened and began restructuring to remove about $150 million in annualized costs, Calderone said.
