CALIFORNIA ADVANCED AND NARROWED restrictions on several technology company practices that target consumers during lightning-round hearings on hundreds of bills.

  • Algorithms were the target of a broad package of California bills that regulate how companies set prices. The Assembly Appropriations Committee advanced a bill (SB 295) that would prohibit businesses from setting prices using algorithms based on data from competitors.
