Clyburn Stays Defiant as South Carolina GOP Weighs New Maps

Rep. Jim Clyburn, the sole Black Democrat representing South Carolina in the US House, is adamant that he’s running for reelection regardless of whether GOP lawmakers succeed in redrawing the state’s map to make his district more Republican.

“I don’t care where the lines are drawn, I’m going to run, and I’m going to run on my record and America’s promise,” Clyburn said in an interview at the Capitol Tuesday following a Congressional Black Caucus press conference.
