Cummins Inc. and others agreed to pay $1.6 million to settle a suit alleging the engine-maker concealed skirting of emissions laws by making engines with unauthorized devices, a plaintiff shareholder told a federal district court.
The settlement, reached with the help of an experienced mediator, provides an immediate and favorable recovery for the settlement class, lead plaintiff Tom Baker told the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana in a Monday filing seeking approval of the agreement.
