The Justice Department along with Republican-led states, senators, and former attorneys general implored the US Supreme Court to keep cases from Louisiana parishes accusing fossil fuel companies of coastal destruction in federal court.
“The federal government’s supervision of the wartime oil industry—including some of the very practices that respondents challenge—independently supports removal,” the DOJ wrote in one of the flurry of amici briefs filed with the high court Thursday.
