The Trump administration is offering clarification to states on how they can properly comply with work requirements set to affect tens of millions of Medicaid recipients nationwide.
Last July’s sprawling tax and spending package introduced, for the first time, federal work requirements for able-bodied Medicaid beneficiaries over the age of 18. Under the policy, these Medicaid recipients will be required to document that they’ve completed at least 80 hours per month of work or community service or be enrolled in an education program starting January 2027.
