A group of nurses who provide anesthesia care are appealing a ruling that dismissed claims alleging insurers unlawfully pay them lower rates than medical doctors.
The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology lost its lawsuit against the US Department of Health and Human Services in August, when the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio said it lacked standing to demand the agency enforce an Affordable Care Act provision that prohibits health insurers from paying some medical professionals less than others for performing the same services.
