Ohio Can Contribute to New Cleveland Browns Stadium During Suit

Ohio officials can proceed with their plan to give the Cleveland Browns owners $600 million for a new stadium in the suburbs while an underlying challenge is pending, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.

But Judge Edmund A. Sargus Jr., of the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, declined to dismiss the case as state officials requested, saying the challengers to the plan have the legal authority to sue and that their claims can be heard. He also declined to abstain from ruling on the lawsuit.
