Apple’s AirPods Patent-Infringement Dispute Ends With Mistrial

A federal judge in California declared a mistrial in a case alleging that Apple Inc. ’s second-generation AirPods and its AirPods Pro infringe two Pinn Inc. patents related to wireless earbuds and their charging case.

The trial, which began Aug. 2, was halted by Judge David O. Carter on Wednesday, according to the day’s minutes filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.

Lawyers and representatives for each side didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
