French Police Carry Out Raids in Altice-Linked Corruption Probe

Police carried out raids across France on Tuesday as part of the ongoing corruption probe involving billionaire Patrick Drahi’s telecommunications group Altice.

Searches took place at 15 homes and 14 companies located in Ile-de-France, Corsica, Var and Vosges, the financial prosecutor said in a statement on Tuesday. Police recovered evidence and seized assets including vehicles, luxury items and more than €14 million ($16.2 million) from bank accounts.

French authorities have since 2023 been investigating a “vast corruption scheme” involving “private corruption, organized fraud and organized money laundering, to the detriment of Altice,” prosecutor Jean-François Bohnert said in the statement. ...
