Uber, Starship to Begin Offering Robot Deliveries in Europe

Uber Technologies Inc. will offer sidewalk robot deliveries in Europe for the first time through a new partnership with Starship Technologies Inc., starting with parts of the UK in December.

To start, customers in Leeds and Sheffield will be able to receive such deliveries if they order from select merchants on the Uber Eats delivery platform, Uber said in a statement Thursday. Starship’s robots can complete deliveries in under 30 minutes for distances as far as two miles, Uber said.
