Alstom Wins $437 Million Houston Airport Skyway Upgrade Contract

Alstom secured a $437 million (€380 million) contract to upgrade the Skyway automated people mover system at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and provide operations and maintenance services for 15 years.

  • Contract includes 16 new Innovia APM R vehicles and modernized station infrastructure
  • Alstom will build new Operations Control Center and upgrade train control systems
  • Upgrades aim to reduce disruptions at airport serving 48 million passengers yearly
  • Alstom has maintained the original Skyway system for two decades
