Securing the right attorney to lead the office. Kirkland & Ellis’s Sean Wheeler, who’s handled deals in industries from energy to healthcare, will head what’s expected to be a full-service branch for Paul Weiss, the firm announced yesterday.
“Building around Sean Wheeler has been my intention right from the very beginning,” Scott Barshay, Paul Weiss’s corporate department chair who has pushed to establish a Houston office, told Meghan Tribe and Mahira Dayal. “He just needed to say yes.”
