Trump Fines Immigrants $36 Billion

The Trump administration is taking immigrants to court to collect on more than 65,000 civil fines—the latest, little known tactic being used to supercharge the president’s mass deportation campaign, Andrew Kreighbaum and Eric Heisig report.

There’s no comprehensive tracking by state, but Andrew and Eric say they’ve learned of at least eight cases in Texas.
