Court Rules Against Uvalde Survivors

Survivors of the Uvalde mass school shooting can’t hold law enforcement agencies liable for failing to confront the gunman for more than an hour, a state appeals court ruled yesterday.

Their reasoning: The shooter caused the injuries of the five teachers and 20 students who sued, not the law enforcement agencies who mishandled the response during the May 2022 deadly incident. (The gunman also killed 19 children and two teachers that day.)
