Allstate Ends Texas Data Collection Claims in Latest Paxton Blow

Allstate Corp. cannot be sued in Texas for allegedly collecting consumers’ driving data without their consent because the company is not headquartered or incorporated to the state.

The ruling is another blow in Attorney General Ken Paxton’s (R) bid to punish non-Texas corporations that he says snoop on unsuspecting customers in the state.

Co-defendant Arity 875 LLC, a mobility data and analytics company that Allstate founded, also lacks meaningful presence in Texas, Judge Vince Santini of 457th District Court in Montgomery County wrote in a one-page order on April 10.
