Courts Warn of ‘Disruption’ to Electronic Case Filing System

Some federal appeals courts said they were experiencing issues with the online case management system for filing documents.

The notices, posted Thursday on several circuit court websites, gave varying guidance to lawyers on next steps if they had to submit a filing that evening. At least one referred to PACER, the public-facing system for court documents, while others referred to the Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system, which is used by those filing in court and judiciary staff.
