Employer registrations for the H-1B specialty occupation visa lottery reached 780,884 for fiscal year 2024, with a large portion of those registrations raising concerns about efforts to game the system.
Total registrations for next fiscal year grew by more than 61% over the record high for FY 2023, according to numbers released Friday by US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
But the especially high number of registrations filed on behalf of individual workers has raised red flags that at least some companies are attempting to gain an unfair advantage in the visa lottery, USCIS said.
