Union members represented by the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen voted Tuesday to shoot down a pact with the commuter railroad, which was reached last month. That sets the stage for engineers to go on strike from their daily job operations as early as May 15. Of the 460 eligible engineers, 93% cast ballots with 372 choosing to oppose the agreement, according to the union.
