Paxton Appeals Order Halting His ActBlue Gift-Card Litigation

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) is appealing a Boston federal judge’s order requiring him to walk away from his consumer-protection lawsuit against Democratic donation platform ActBlue LLC.

Paxton on Monday gave notice that he’d seek the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit’s review of last week’s ruling finding his Texas state-court suit against ActBlue was likely an act of retaliation against the organization for its work with Democratic causes and candidates, including Paxton’s rival for the US Senate, James Talarico (D).
