A Manhattan federal judge recused herself from a criminal case after she said her financial adviser bought stock in a company implicated in the matter without her knowledge.
US District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil has presided over the case, which alleged a conspiracy to defraud Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurers through the trafficking of black-market HIV medication, since 2023. She said in an order on Tuesday that she’d recuse even though she believes she can be impartial.
