Tenneco Denied 401(k) Suit Pause Given Longshot High Court Bid

A federal judge rejected Tenneco Inc.'s bid to pause a potential class action over its retirement plan fees, saying the US Supreme Court doesn’t appear likely to grant the company’s pending petition arguing the dispute belongs in individual arbitration.

The Supreme Court has denied three recent petitions raising similar issues, and Tenneco doesn’t offer a compelling explanation for why its petition will fare better, Judge Judith E. Levy of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan said in a Dec. 6 order.
