El Chapo’s Son Pleads Guilty in Drug Trafficking Prosecution (1)

One of the four sons of imprisoned drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman pleaded guilty in a case charging him in a drug trafficking conspiracy and agreed to cooperate with US law enforcement, according to court documents.

Joaquin Guzman Lopez pleaded guilty Monday to two criminal counts of drug trafficking and engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise. Joaquin Guzman admitted that he acted as a “logistical coordinator” for Mexico’s Sinaloa drug cartel in smuggling large quantities of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana into the US.

Guzman Lopez pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate in hopes of avoiding a life sentence. ...
