ICC Delays Duterte Hearing to Decide If He’s Fit to Stand Trial

The International Criminal Court has decided to postpone a hearing on the confirmation of charges against former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte to determine whether he is well enough to stand trial.

The Hague-based court said a “limited postponement of the hearing on the confirmation of charges is warranted” to give sufficient time to determine if Duterte is “fit to follow and participate” in the proceedings, according to a statement on Monday.
