A Texas county and its former sheriff must face federal civil conspiracy claims in connection to a dramatic home raid filmed for the television show “Live PD,” a district court judge said Monday.
Williamson County’s bid to dismiss the case was denied because the homeowner “adequately alleged that a conspiracy exists,” US District Judge Robert Pitman of the Western District of Texas said.
Reasonable inferences of a conspiracy are, for now, sufficient in the absence of hard proof because conspiracies “are rarely evidenced by explicit agreements,” Pitman said.
