Alabama Proposes Constitutional Amendment Authorizing Limestone County Senior Property Tax Exemption

The Alabama Legislature enacted a law proposing an amendment to the Alabama Constitution authorizing qualified taxpayers 65 years of age or older to claim a senior property tax exemption for real property owned in Limestone County under certain conditions. The proposed amendment will become a valid part of the Alabama Constitution when approved by voters. [H.B. 310, became law without signature 02/19/26]
