The Albanian Ministry of Finance Sept. 8 announced a proposal to increase minimum wages, public sector salaries, and pensions. The proposal includes measures to increase: 1) the monthly minimum wage to 34,000 Albanian leks (US$290) from 32,000 leks (US$273); 2) salaries in the public sector by 7 percent; and 3) all pension categories by 6 percent, beginning with September 2022 pensions paid in October 2022, and through December 2022 pensions.
