The Albanian Central Tax Administration Jan. 14 announced increases in the monthly minimum and maximum wage rates, effective Jan. 1. The announcement includes: 1) an increase, to 50,000 Albanian leks (US$600.86) from 40,000 leks (US$480.69), in the monthly minimum wage rate; 2) an increase, to 186,416 leks (US$2,241) from 176,416 leks (US$2,120), in the monthly maximum wage rate; and 3) the gross monthly minimum wage rate of 50,000 leks and maximum of 186,416 leks, for purposes of calculating and paying social security contributions for employed individuals.
