Albania Tax Agency Issues Minimum Wage Notice for Calculation of Social Security, Health Insurance Contributions

The Albanian Central Tax Administration Sept. 28 issued a notice on the monthly income thresholds for calculating social security and mandatory health insurance contributions, effective Sept. 2022. The notice includes gross monthly minimum wage thresholds of: 1) 34,000 Albanian leks (US$283.81), up to a maximum of 149,954 leks (US$1,251.73), for calculating social security contributions for employed and self-employed individuals; 2) 34,000 leks for calculating social security contributions for unpaid family employees who work and live together; 3) 34,000 leks for calculating mandatory health insurance contributions for employed individuals; and 4) 68,000 leks (US$567.62) for calculating mandatory health insurance contributions for ...
