Algeria President Signs 2020 Finance Act

The Algerian President Dec. 11 signed the 2020 Finance Act. The law includes measures: 1) reducing the VAT rate to 9 percent on digital goods and services; 2) introducing an annual tax of 1,500 Algerian dinars (US$12) for passenger vehicles and 3,000 dinars (US$25) for other vehicles; 3) increasing to 1,000 dinars (US$8.36) from 500 dinars (US$4.18) the tax for residents on international road or rail transport tickets; 4) increasing the internal consumer tax to 60 percent from 30 percent for large cylinder vehicles and extending its scope to include various gasoline and diesel vehicles; 5) increasing the solidarity contribution ...
