Amazon Passes Cost of U.K. Digital Services Tax to Sellers (1)

Amazon sellers will bear the cost of the U.K.'s recently approved digital services tax.

In an email Tuesday, Amazon.com Inc. told its U.K. sellers—which it says number in the tens of thousands—that their fees will increase by 2% beginning in September to cover the additional costs of the new tax.

“Now that the legislation has passed, we want to inform you that we will be increasing Referral fees, Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) fees, monthly FBA storage fees and Multichannel Fulfillment (MCF) fees by 2% in the U.K. to reflect this additional cost,” Amazon told sellers.
