Intergovernmental Group Calls for More Tax Info Exchange In Asia

Asian governments reported higher tax revenues from information exchange in 2023, but officials say that more can be done to expand regional cooperation and how countries use new incoming data.

An intergovernmental report Monday said a group of 13 Asian countries brought in least 1.8 billion euros ($1.92 billion) of extra tax revenue in 2023 from applying international tax transparency standards. The countries collected an extra 1.5 billion euros in tax revenue from exchanging information on request and 277 million euros from automatic information exchange.
