Athena Bitcoin Inc. engaged in a “fraudulent scheme” to steal AML Software Inc.'s computer source code used on Bitcoin ATMs, infringing copyrights and misappropriating trade secrets, AML alleged in a federal lawsuit.
Through a chain of deals, Athena inked agreements with entities it knew were transferring AML’s source code to it, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Parts of that source code are trade secrets known only by developers who signed confidentiality agreements, AML said.
