Australia Accountants Want Code Of Conduct Changes Withdrawn

Australia’s tax professional bodies have called for new code of conduct rules to be withdrawn and revisited by the government.

Ten professional accounting bodies said in a July 15 letter to Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones that changes made to the tax agent’s code of conduct had created inconsistencies and the start date in two weeks time was “unrealistic and unachievable”. The group called on him to withdraw the current version of the rules.
