Australia’s government is consulting on proposed laws to tackle tax adviser misconduct, in its latest push to crackdown on the sector following the PriceWaterhouseCoopers tax leak scandal.
A Treasury consultation paper and draft regulations published on 10 December would reform the Tax Practitioners Board via new laws to “stamp out” tax agent misconduct, the government said in a statement.
