Australia Gazettes Legislative Instrument on Waiver of GST Tax Invoice Requirement

The Australian Official Gazette Feb. 10 published a legislative instrument on the waiver of the tax invoice requirement for corporate cardholders under the GST regime. The instrument includes measures: 1) relieving qualifying taxpayers of the obligation to hold a tax invoice for creditable acquisitions; 2) listing the taxpayer requirements for obtaining relief from holding a tax invoice; 3) calculating adjustments to GST payable; and 4) outlining reimbursement requirements. The law entered into force and generally took effect Aug. 15, 2017, the day after the previous determination was registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.
