Australia Seeks Input on Consumption-Tax Classification Guide

Australian authorities are seeking input on a new self-review guide and checklist for classification of products under the goods and services tax.

The consultation is intended to ensure that the guide and checklist meet the needs of taxpayers, the Australian Taxation Office said on its website.

Australia’s GST is a 10% tax on most goods, services and other items sold or consumed in Australia.
