The Australian Taxation Office Feb. 15 announced the May 21 deadline for filing and payment of 2024 fringe benefits tax (FBT) returns for the period between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024. The announcement also states that: 1) a different due date may apply for employers that use a tax agent to file on their behalf; 2) employers that are registered for FBT, but aren’t required to file a return, should notify the tax agency by the date their return would have been due; 3) employers must maintain records of fringe benefits provided and the calculation of taxable benefits; ...
