The Australian Taxation Office Jan. 29 announced the Feb. 28 filing and payment deadline for December quarterly business activity statements (BAS). The announcement includes that: 1) registered taxpayers can claim GST credits for GST included in the price of goods and services purchased for business; 2) the credit must be apportioned to only claim business use, if purchases were for both business and private use; 3) taxpayers may be able to use annual private apportionment to account for the private portion by making a single adjustment at year end after claiming full GST credits in the monthly or quarterly BAS; ...
